An extremelly well written book describing essential and advanced techniques in General Thoracic Surgery.As a junior doctor, resident in Thorqacic Surgery, I concider this book to be a most usefull guide both in training and in practicing in the field of this outmost exciting specialty.I personally enjoyed the clariness of the text and I tend to concider this book as a unique combination of a comprehencive textbook and a concise atlas of Thoracic Surgery.

I was extremely impressed with the content and format! I have read other fundraising books and found the ten steps to be one of the best, a necessary guide for anyone involved in a not-for-profit organization's operations. It concisely captures the necessary fundamentals involved in successfully empowering an organization. The CD-ROM was a great bonus and it was quite easy to manuever through the comprehensive worksheets and exercises - I especially liked "Evaluating your Executive Director" and the other assessment tools. I highly recommend this guide!

Each chapter, or even particular sections of chapters, can be profitably used in isolation from the rest of the text, assigned in different sequence, or developed into the basis for a research project. Qualitative and quantitative methods are equally considered as parts of the whole in research, with essential statistical concepts explained in a manner that does not intimidate but rather provokes that "aha!" experience of understanding. Whether as a primary text in a conceptual course, a supplemental text, or a refreshingly insightful journey into pleasure, I most highly recommend this book.

Third Time Around, by George Grant, is by far the most thorough and scholarly account, that I have seen, of heroes through the centuries. Their stories teach us that the the struggle to preserve life never ends. Many of these men and women sacrificed lives of comfort or luxury to follow their calling. Others used their authority, influence, or affluence to bring about changes that saved lives. Many were martyred. You will be amazed at how many times victory has been won for the unwanted, only to see them threatened again in another time or under another ruler. That it has been won so many times before should be an encouragement to all who love babies, the handicapped, and others of the most vulnerable among us!

This book chronicles the television industry through the eyes of one of its own major players. It is a very good book for those who wish to become executives in the fast going world of television. He goes into great detail over his personal life with Mary Tyler Moore and his involvement into the MTM Enterprises programs, and his years as president of NBC and his ventures after he left NBC in 1986. This book is a must read for anybody who loves the history of television or would like to work in television.
